Lifespring Foundation
Lifespring was founded in 1974 and had an
immediate and enduring impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands
of participants who took part in the Lifespring trainings. In
addition to the success of Lifespring in promulgating the impact
of experiential education, John P. Hanley, Sr., Ph.D., the founder
and president of Lifespring, believed in giving back to the community
beyond the forum of the Lifespring trainings. For that reason,
the Lifespring Foundation was established.
The Lifespring Foundation was organizationally
and financially distinct from Lifespring and was specifically chartered
to facilitate and evaluate personal and professional human development
trainings for non-profit organizations and to raise support, funds,
and volunteer resources for charitable groups. Over the course of
its history, the Lifespring Foundation brought its work and services
to, for example, state prisons, the United States Air Force, public
schools, public educators, the Special Olympics, and even Soviet-era
Russia.
This section highlights the charter
and history of the Lifespring Foundation and includes vignettes
from its charitable work. Of particular historical note are the
articles on the success of Lifespring in Russia before the fall
of Communism.
